For those who have traveled to Kenya, you know it’s a true privilege to experience the unique things that are truly … Well … Kenyan. If you go to Kenya and get bored (I assure you. You will not!) with all the beautiful places that Kenya safaris are known for, you may want to explore other little things that make traveling to Kenya really interesting. |
Walk around the city of Nairobi and take a peek at the artifacts market. You will discover some true gems that you can own for very cheap. Kenya craftsmen are experts in making beautiful masterpiece wood and soapstone carvings.

Safari Rally If you are lucky to visit between the months of May 27 to June 1, you may catch a glimpse of the very exciting Safari Rally. Actually, this is a very big deal as it is considered one of the toughest rallies in world. The Rally drivers drive through the length and breadth of the whole country creating a truly spectacular event. |

They don't mind getting covered with layers of dust as the cars zoom by on the dusty roads. It is so interesting.
Nyama Choma (Guess what it is!!)On any of our trips to Kenya, we make sure to eat Kenya’s unique barbeque called “Nyama Choma“ in Swahili (Kenya’s National Language).
Nyama Choma directly translated to “Meat Roast“, or Roast meat. You will find Nyama Choma in almost every bar and restaurant in Kenya and everybody prefers to eat it with “Ugali“ (made of Corn flour). Their roast beef and goat ribs are as good, if not better than any you'll find at the expensive tourist restaurant... but at a fraction of the price.

The Famous Matatu Are you a fan of traveling in true style. Then jump into a Kenyan Matatu like most Kenyan people do. Matatus are minibuses customized to become what I would call “Mobile Discos“ due to the great music they play while commuters travel. |
You will never get bored in a Matatu. You will be treated to the latest music and your trip will seem shorted than it is as you enjoy the music.
The first time I traveled in a Matatu, I was so impressed, I jumped back in after reaching my destination for another round trip and a treat to the music.
You can be sure that once you travel to Kenya, you will discover many little things that make a Kenya Safari a truly unique experience you will never forget.
