Kenya Scuba diving

Many Beach tour companies in Kenya arrange for scuba divers to dive and explore Africa's most spectacular marine hotspots along the Kenya coast.

Some of these popular diving spots are Pemba Island and Mombasa Island's North and South Coasts. Along with diving, you can also enjoy windsurfing, water polo, snorkeling and jet skiing in the deep sea.

Divers from all over the world come to Pemba Island to explore the reefs and ocean marine life in its frigid waters.

Some common marine wildlife that divers encounter include pelagic fish, Manta rays, turtles and sharks.

Another popular scuba diving location is at Diani Beach with its miles of unspoilt coral reefs that protect the pure white beaches and provide habitats for the thousands of varieties of marine life.

The best times for diving in Kenya are December through March, when many seasonal species like the Whale shark and Manta ray make an appearance.

The numerous shipwrecks that sunk over the years along the coast provide great wreck-diving opportunities along the outer reefs.
