Marsabit National Park

The Marsabit National Reserve is located in the remote northern part of Kenya in the hilly and forested district of Marsabit.

The Marsabit mountain has created its own unique cool climate around this hot and dry area. Every evening, hot air rising from the desert floor cools and forms mist which settles beautifully on the mountain.

This has helped create two crater lakes.

Attractions:

The park is home to many elephants and birds of prey.

Other animals you may find here are; rhinos, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalos, warthogs, Grevy's Zebra, reticulated giraffe, hyena and antelope.

Getting there:

The best way to get to Marsabit national park is to fly to Marsabit town from Nairobi. The road from Isiolo is very rough and also not safe to travel.

The park has a lodge and good camping facilities.
