Kisumu is kenya's main inland port city located on Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest Lake and the source of River Nile. River Nile is the second largest rivers in the world.
Kisumu is also the last destination by rail on the way to Uganda. From there, one can board a ferry on Lake Victoria and travel to Uganda. There are also daily flights from Kisumu Airport. These flights go mostly to Nairobi but some go to other Kenya cities.
A visit to Kisumu would not be complete without checking out the city’s attractions. Visit the Kibuye Market and buy kisumu’s unique foods and plentiful supply of fish.
If you love animals, visit the Kisumu Museum, which has a large aquarium housing mambas, spitting cobras, puff adders and other venomous snakes. This is also the place to see Crocodiles and watch them feed, an experience you will never forget.
The town also has an impala sanctuary, a bird sanctuary and a Hippo sanctuary.
Another weird Kisumu attraction is the weeping Miyaki Rock, a mystical rock shaped like a weeping man. Legend has it that a man was dumped by his wife and was weeping for her to come back.
There are many high quality hotels in Kisumu. Some of the best ones are; Imperial Hotel, Sunset Hotel and Mountain View Resort.
