Chapati is a popular dish in Kenya. It has its origins in India and gained popularity in Kenya due to the large population of Indians in Kenya. It is a flat bread made of wheat flour. It is usually eaten with vegetables and meat.
Githeri is made by boiling maize (corn) and beans until it is well cooked and then frying them together with vegetables and sometimes meat. This is the most popular dish among communities of Central and Eastern Provinces of Kenya.
Kienyeji (Mashed Potato and Beans)This is usually made with potatoes, maize and beans cooked together and then mashed in a pot with a pestle to form a uniform paste like food which is very sweet to taste.
