Where would you go without a plane these days? And You don’t have to be a millionaire to travel by air to Kenya. Believe it or not, Kenya has several world class airports. Here is a glimpse of some of the Airports you may use while traveling to and within Kenya.

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is the largest airport in Kenya and the busiest airport in East and Central Africa. It is located about 10 miles from Nairobi's Central Business District.
Upon landing on the airport, one is amazed by the modern looks of the whole facility. It has a beautiful frontal view and has three terminals. Terminal 1 and 2 serve International Flights while Terminal 3 serves Domestic Flights.
There are many offices placed conveniently accessible to travelers. These include Banks, booking facilities for taxis, car hire, tour operators and hotels and many high quality restaurants.
Other facilities include luggage handling and storage, disabled facilities, first aid stations, a bureau de change, duty-free shops, a post office, curio shops and offices for tourist information and hotel reservations. There is also a regular bus service between the airport and Nairobi city center. The airport serves about 5 million passengers a year.

Moi International Airport Moi International Airport also called Mombasa Airport and is located in Kenya’s Coastal city of Mombasa is the second most important airport in Kenya after Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. The airport is situated six miles (10km) north west of Mombasa town and is well served by Public buses to the city centre. Most travelers however take a taxi or are picked up by their hotel or tour operator. The airport has good facilities that include luggage handling and storage, disabled facilities, first aid, banks, a bureau de change, bars, restaurants, duty-free shops, a post office, curio shops, tourist information and hotel reservations. Wilson AirportWilson Airport is located about 3 miles of Nairobi, Kenya. It serves both domestic and international traffic and mostly used by light aircraft. The Tourism industry uses the airport extensively for domestic flights and it is also used for Medical airlifts due to its close proximity to major hospitals in Nairobi, Agricultural exporters use it extensively too. With about 120,000 landings and take offs annually it is the main domestic airport in kenya. It is also used for Flight training. |
There are many other small airports in Kenya that can handle small planes. These are important if you plan to travel within the country by air or if you want to use light aircraft to go on Safari by air.
