Its climate ranges from warm coastal region to dry savanna further inland and finally the cooler and mountainous central region.

Many tourists visit Kenya to enjoy the warm, sunny climate during the dry season. There are two rainy seasons, one between April and June and the other between October and December.

All foreign visitors are required to get a visa. Citizens of Uganda and Tanzania and other East African community countries are exempt from visa requirements. They can visit Kenya just using their national identity cards.

Most foreign visitors obtain visas in their home countries but one can also get it at the Airport when they land in Kenya.

Kenya’s currency is called the Shilling. You'll need to convert your money to Kenya Shilling when you arrive here. Exchange rates vary with time, so you need to check with your bank for the latest rates. It is advisable to exchange your money in banks because they are more reliable than money changers. It’s also advisable not to carry large sums of money with you around.

All major Credit cards are widely accepted in Kenya and traveler’s checks can be cashed in all banks.

Tourists enjoying a Matatu ride Most people travel to Kenya by air. There are two major international airports, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Moi International Airport.

For Local flights within Kenya and other parts of Africa, you can use the smaller regional Airports like Wilson Airport.

Trains are another good method to travel within the country. There is an efficient and comfortable railway service running from Mombasa, through Nairobi to Kisumu and finally to Malaba in Western Kenya.

One can also use Buses and Matatus to travel to any destination in Kenya. If you like to drive yourself, you can rent a car too.

Kenya has a good network of paved roads and transportation is quite efficient. However, beware that they drive on the left side of the road as opposed to the right side in some other countries. You can use your country’s Drivers license to drive in Kenya, but it has to be endorsed by the Transport Department. An International Driving License is preferable.

Kenya has great accommodation facilities for tourists. There are many Hotels and Lodges in the major cities and other tourist attraction areas. They maintain superior standards with eco-friendly practices. Other types of accommodation for Tourists include Game and safari lodges (small hotels within the Game parks) and tented lodges. There are Bathrooms close to the tents with good plumbing and hot water.

There are many things to do while vacationing in Kenya. Many tourists enjoy Hiking, Mountain Climbing and Game watching. There are good golfing facilities for Golf lovers. If traveling to the coast, you can indulge in Scuba Diving and Snorkeling in the warm beaches. There are also other water sports like windsurfing, parasailing and water-skiing.

For the adrenaline junkies, try whitewater rafting on Rivers Tana, Athi and Ewaso Njiro. Otherwise, you can try fishing in the rivers or deep sea fishing in the sea.

In the months of May and June, you will have an opportunity to watch Kenya's Safari Rally, one of the worlds toughest Motor Vehicle Rally.

Lastly, you can visit Kenya's Game parks and Reserves to watch the wildlife. Below are some of the several National Parks in Kenya.
