Other Animals abound in the forests too. These include the buffalo, giant forest hog and Kenya's indigenous endangered Black Rhino.

There is also magnificent scenery in this park to watch and take pictures.
The parks entire forest is being fenced to protect surrounding farmers from animal raiding their farms and causing damage.
Gameviewing is a very rewarding activity here. lion. leopard, baboon, Black and White Colobus and Sykes monkeys are abundant. Rare sightings have also been made of the Golden Cat.
Bird viewing is great too with over 250 species living here including the sparrow hawk, African goshawk, eagles, sunbirds and plovers.
There are beautiful lodges in the Aberdare with great catering facilities and campsites.
The lodges are actually one of the main attractions of the Aberdares.

The most popular are the Treetops and The Ark, built above the ground beside waterholes with salt licks. Visitors must book in advance and cannot make their own way to the lodges in private vehicles.
Visitors must check-in at the Aberdare Country club and they will be driven to their respective lodges.
